"Calypso II"
(Cor de la Bryere/Heibsporn)

Calypso II is one of the most
important sires of Germany today. Initially stationed in Holstein until
1986,
he was thereafter at stud as a leased stallion at the Celle state stud
between 1987 and 1989, and from 1990 until his demise at the end of
1995, covered at the Amselhof in Walle. He ushered in a new breeding epoch in
Hanover as the first Holsteiner at the Celle state stud. After
first having made his mark in the annals of Holstein breeding by means
of top showjumpers and significant stallion sons, he knuckled down and
for all intents and purposes, succeeded in doing the same in Hanover.
Apart from state premium mares and highly remunerated auction horses,
he has managed to present a number of first class stallion sons.
In Hanover as well as in Holstein, Calypso II presented the exceptional
sires "Contender", "Coriolan", "Champ of Class", "Colani", "Carbid",
"Crazy Classic", "Chasseur I and II", as well as international
performance horses. His progeny dispose over outstanding
jumping ability and are popular because of their excellent rideability.
