BUCANERO   'Buddy' is a tall, athletic young gelding who has a huge stride and has very good conformation and bone, with strong, correct legs and a powerful hind end. He has a wonderful nature, and is very easy to handle. He should mature to over 17 hh. 

His Sire: 'Bajazzo', is an Oldenburg Stallion, imported from Germany, where he performed in Eventing.  'Bajazzo' combines the tremendous gallop and length of stride of His Sire, 'Barsoi' xx, with the legendary Dressage and Jumping talent of the 'Grande' line.  'Barsoi' was ranked 25th on the 1996/97 WBFSH Dressage Sire list, 3rd ranked Tb Sire overall.  'Buddy's' Dam, 'Blend O Dawn', is a lovely Thoroughbred mare, combining good conformation with very good movement, and a sensible nature.  Her pedigree goes back to the Performance Thoroughbred Stallions; 'Northern Dancer', 'Key To The Kingdom', 'Princequillo' and 'Grey Dawn II'.

As of October 2002 'Buddy' has been sent to 'school' for 30 days of starting under saddle with Ms. Maya Corrie.  Buddy left his pasturemates willingly and stepped right into the trailer, taking it all in stride.  Maya relates that he is a very good pupil, and has learned his lessons quickly and with no resistance. This colt was bred to Event, but most certainly will excel in Dressage also. His temperment and trust of people confirms that he will make an excellent Amateur's mount.
